Class of 2008 Information--taken from the class trip letter to parents

MAry Queen of Peace/AWARDS DAY

This prayer service will be held in the St. Mary’s Church on Wednesday, May 7, at 8:30 AM, followed by the presentation of academic awards.  

Senior exams are scheduled for Monday, May 5 and Tuesday May 6. 

1)      Monday, May 5, through Thursday, May 8, checkout for the seniors.

2)      Wednesday, May 7, Baccalaureate practice in church following awards day presentation

3)      Thursday, May 8, graduation practice at 10:00 AM in the gym.

BACCALAUREATE

The Baccalaureate Mass will be held on Wednesday, May 7, at 6:30 PM at the church.    You are cordially invited to attend along with grandparents, relatives, and friends of the class of 2008.  After Baccalaureate, a power-point presentation honoring the senior class and a light supper, hosted by the sophomore class will be held at the high school.  Just a reminder:  Your son/daughter will need to bring their cap and professionally-pressed graduation gown (Jostens does not recommend that gowns be pressed at home as melting will occur, only steamed) for Mass.  Parents and students:   please report to the church basement before 6:15 PM for the processional.

Also, on Wednesday, May 7, everyone is invited to attend the Industrial Arts Fair. Presented by grades 9 through 12, this fair will be held in the St. Mary's High School cafeteria from 6-9 PM.

GRADUATION DAY

Graduation Mass is at 7:30 AM at St. Mary’s church on Sunday, May 11.  Graduates will wear their caps and gowns. The RSM freshmen class will host a breakfast for the St. Mary’s High School seniors and their parents in the cafeteria following the Eucharistic celebration. Graduates will assemble in the church basement prior to Mass.  Parents do not process in with their children and may sit where they wish in church.

Commencement exercises for the class of 2008 will begin at 2 PM on Sunday, May 11, in the gym.  Awards and scholarships for the seniors will be announced at that time. Graduates will meet in the media center by 1:45 PM.

Also, on Graduation Day, May 11, everyone is invited to attend the Industrial Arts Fair. Presented by grades 9 through 12, this fair will be held in the St. Mary's High School cafeteria from 1:00 to 4:00 PM.
